The FIA G2 racetrack begins construction and is scheduled to begin operations in February 2011 in Taiwan.

“Dapeng Bay International Racing Amusement Park” is the first racetrack that reaches the international accepted professional caliber here in Taiwan.  The construction for this racetrack began in May 2010. The amusement park is 35 hectares and the racetrack is 3527 meters in length. Except the FIA G2 course, this racetrack is designed to meet the FIA (Federation International de L’Automobile) standard.

There will be a go-kart racetrack, an aircraft club, a yacht club, and also a new hotel nearby. This is the BOT project between National Dapeng Bay Scenic Area and Dapeng Bay Investment Co. Everyone, including the local residents who hope that such an attraction will lead to increased tourism, welcomes the construction of this amusement facility.

“The fundraising has some difficulties at beginning, but we finally started the construction now” says the chief Manager of Dapeng Bay Investment Co. Hsu Hung Ping. Furthermore, according to Hsu Hung Ping, “Besides the Formula One race, we can hold every single race here, including regular Formula races, and even the MotoGP or Superbike races may be held here. The racetrack is design by a team of Taiwanese designers and supported by consultants from Britain, Australia and Japan. Now it is already a FIA G2 approved racetrack..”

This racetrack is expected to be finished in February 2011.
